Östad School is Hiring a Teacher for the Leisure Home

Östad School is now looking for another teacher for our leisure home.

Are you the leisure teacher who wants to make a big difference in a small context? Do you want to work with the leisure home team to develop the operations and create richer opportunities for our students to feel good, learn, and succeed? Then this is the position for you!

Östad School is a K-6 school with an attached leisure home. We have a shared leisure home for all students from preschool class and up. We organize students into smaller groups and offer varied teaching based on the curriculum's goals and intentions. The leisure home has its own facilities and learning environments, access to a small kitchen, a barbecue area, forest areas with outdoor gyms, craft rooms, and a large sports hall.

Östad School is located on the outskirts of scenic Sjövik, with forests and meadows as its closest neighbors. You can easily get here by bus, car, or why not by bicycle.

We who work in the unit are around 20 people. Both in the leisure home and in the school, we systematically work with our quality work, always focusing on the student and linking current research to our development areas. The goal is for Östad's students, both in leisure and in school, to feel good, learn a lot, and leave our operations with a good self-esteem, great agency, and many positive experiences.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

You will be part of two teams, one for leisure and one for K-3. Your task is to plan, implement teaching, evaluate, and develop leisure activities, but also to work to ensure that students feel good, believe in themselves, acquire knowledge, and develop abilities in harmony and trust in themselves and their peers. At Östad School, you need to want and dare to engage in many different pedagogical issues. Together with the teams, you will have ample opportunity to use your skills, ideas, and qualities to find ways, methods, and develop teaching and operations in harmony with students' participation and influence.

You need to be a certified teacher in leisure education.
